This year, we are working strongly with new our program detailed especially for our school and covering ten studio areas. Mrs Carson has joined the art team and is a wonderful help in sharing ideas, organising the materials to go to each class, and keeping us on track in the lessons. In years 11 to 13, students are working on the WACE Preliminary Visual Art Program, which will help them to achieve the skill sections in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Our art work has included:
Year 7 – self-portraits, superheros, water and Egypt.
Year 8 – patterns, land features, printing and water colours
Year 9 – World War 1 theme in printing, modelling and stop motion film making.
Year 10 – cushion sculptures and war theme posters and printing.
Year 11 – nature observation drawing and printing, creative comment on self-portraits and collaged sculpture.
Year 12 and 13 – social comment and Banksy stencil prints, drawing and painting skills.
We have seen lots of creative ideas, new skills and a great work done so far this year. Well done art students!
