Welcome to our Organic Gardening Program for Students! We're thrilled to offer a unique and hands-on experience that combines education, sustainability, and the joy of growing your own food.
Our program boasts a designated organic garden area specifically designed for students to explore and learn. Within this space, we have five distinct irrigated raised garden beds, providing the perfect environment for cultivating a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs without the use of pesticides or harmful chemicals.
Sustainability is a key focus of our program, and we actively promote recycling and composting. We have implemented effective composting processes to recycle Food Organics, Garden Organics (FOGO) waste, ensuring that organic matter is returned to the soil, enriching its fertility naturally.
To enhance the learning experience, we offer weekly teacher-led sessions for students who are interested in diving deeper into the world of organic gardening. Our experienced educators guide students through various techniques, from planting and nurturing seedlings to harvesting the bountiful crops.
As part of our commitment to providing a diverse range of produce, our garden boasts established olive, orange, and lemon trees that bear fruit each year. Students have the opportunity to witness the entire lifecycle of these trees, from blossoming to harvesting, and gain a deeper understanding of the natural processes involved.
In addition to the garden beds and fruit trees, we have a greenhouse dedicated to nurturing seedlings. This controlled environment allows us to start plants from seeds, ensuring a continuous supply of healthy and robust plants for our gardens.
At our Organic Gardening Program, we prioritise the health and well-being of both our students and the environment. That's why we proudly maintain a strict policy of not using any herbicides or pesticides in our garden, offering an authentic organic gardening experience that instills sustainable practices and encourages a deeper connection with nature.
